The Catwalk

The Catwalk is home to cats who live with us as permanent residents — including the original Cattersville crew. Some came through our Feral-to-Barn-Cat program and stayed; others arrived from situations that didn’t fit the program at all, like the shipyard cats now living in the garden community.

Rebel the Cat

Rebel

Cat · Tortoise

Rebel is our resident shadow queen who patrols twenty acres of sanctuary land with the precision of a seasoned detective, melting into shade under pistachio trees before emerging to claim her rightful throne—a wicker perch on Grandpa's front porch. This fierce tortoiseshell came to us from SEAACA five years ago as wild as the wind, and while she's decidedly unimpressed by human attention, she's got a soft spot for allogrooming with fellow ferals, pot belly pigs, and the occasional chair leg. Every evening, she returns to her lookout like clockwork, keeping watch over her kingdom with the quiet confidence of someone who knows exactly where home is.

Sponsor a Catwalk resident — Clouder 9

Ambassador-style sponsorship for the cats who live here permanently — same shape as Harry the rooster or Kroo the goat.

Clouder 9 covers the daily cost of keeping the Catwalk running: feed, vet care, the occasional emergency that always seems to happen on a weekend.

Curious how cats end up at Steampunk in the first place? Our Feral-to-Barn-Cat program is the placement pipeline that brings ferals from municipal-shelter euthanasia timelines to vetted properties across the Julian backcountry. The Catwalk is for the cats who didn’t continue through to placement and stayed.
