Text Messages

What we send
We send one text message, only when a caller asks for one during a call to our phone line, containing the link they asked for. We do not send marketing texts, campaigns, or newsletters by text, and we never text a number that did not ask us to.
How you opt in
There is one way, and it is deliberate: you call 760-782-8296, choose a menu option, and press 1 when the line offers to text you. Before you press anything, the recording says:
“Steampunk Farms Rescue Barn will send you one text message. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
We have no web form, checkout box, newsletter signup, or paper form that can opt you in to text messages, and we never text a number that has not asked us to. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of donating, buying anything, volunteering, or using this site.
Message frequency
One message per request. We do not send recurring texts, marketing campaigns, newsletters, appeals, or automated follow-ups by text. If you call twice and ask twice, you get two messages.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. We do not charge you anything.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message from us and you will not receive another. Reply HELP for help. You can also call 760-782-8296 or email rescuebarn@steampunkfarms.org.
Your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used solely to send the message you asked for. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else’s marketing, and we do not share your consent to receive text messages with third parties or affiliates.
Our phone line and text messages are carried by Twilio, which processes them on our behalf in order to deliver them. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
If you text us first
You are welcome to. A person reads it — the line does not reply automatically, because the only message we have your permission to send is the one you asked for on the phone. If it is urgent, calling is faster.
Carrier
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
