01

Choose Your Person

Who are you going to talk to — and why them?

The best advocacy conversations aren't random. They're intentional. You choose someone specific because the timing is right, the relationship can hold it, or the potential for change is real. Don't pick the easiest person. Don't pick the hardest. Pick someone where this conversation could actually matter.

How to choose well

Think about someone you already have a relationship with — a neighbor, coworker, family member, or friend. Someone you'll see again. Someone where the conversation won't be a one-off performance, but a thread in an ongoing relationship. The person who came to mind first while reading Level 2 is probably the right one.
