We didn’t anticipate sinking—literally—resources into these yards this winter. But weather and budget challenges have delayed development of the acreage we purchased last year (where we hoped the donkeys, cows, goats, and sheep would already be living).

Instead, Bubbles and her friends are facing one more rainy season in yards with woefully insufficient drainage—and the mud is winning.

We’ve found no better material than pelleted pine bedding for absorbing standing water and helping us raise ground levels so everyone can get back on solid footing.
