Summer at the sanctuary means one thing — **pool time for the pigs.**

We set up their kiddie pool this morning, and within minutes, **Wilbur** was doing his signature belly flop while **Charlotte** tested the waters with cautious sniffs before diving in snout-first. The splashing, the squealing, the pure joy of cool water on a hot day — it's everything we needed to see.

**Emerald City Pet Rescue** surprised us with this pool donation, and watching our rescue pigs turn into water babies was the perfect way to break it in. There's something magical about seeing animals who once knew only concrete and confinement discover simple pleasures like a shallow pool on a summer afternoon.

The best part? **Babe** figured out how to use his snout as a snorkel, creating the most ridiculous bubbling sounds while the others splashed around him. We laughed so hard we nearly dropped the camera.

These moments — when rescue animals get to just be animals, playing and cooling off and living their best pig lives — remind us why we do this work. Sometimes sanctuary life is about the big saves and the dramatic rescues.

But sometimes it's just about pig pool parties on a Tuesday.
